Our mini air conditioner for car has 12V system, the air conditioner unit is 12V, has to work with 12V battery.So if you ask "can a 12V battery run the ac?" the answer is YES.
If the battery output is 12V , then it can run our ac. but in order to run the ac for a long time as we needed, the battery capacity is important.
For example 12V/100Ah battery, strong cooling mode, compressor works in 50% of time, can sustain around 2.8h of running. As we can calculate that if customers wants longer time, the bigger battery the better.
On a vehicle, if we want to use the air conditioner when car running, the generator is also important, it has to be big enough to charge the battery in time to make sure the battery can always provide enough electricity to run the air conditioner.
In words, to run the ac, we have to find a way to provide enough electricity to input, we can solve it by solar panel, generator and big enough (no less than 1000W) battery .
