RV Top and Bottom Air Conditioners

When we communicate with RV fans, it is inevitable to talk about RV air conditioning. This is a very common and tangled topic for many people. The RVs we own are basically bought as complete vehicles. Yes, many riders don't know how many devices work and how to overhaul them later.

First of all, we should know that the air conditioners in the RV are divided into driving air conditioners and parking air conditioners. The driving air conditioner is the air conditioner that comes with the original car engine when it is started, and it is the air conditioner used during the driving of the vehicle. The parking air conditioner is an in-vehicle air conditioner that is used when the vehicle is parked. It is generally installed on the top of the vehicle, the outer machine is outside the car, and the inner machine is on the top of the car. The parking overhead air conditioner increases the height of the RV by 20-30cm. There are also individual manufacturers of parking air conditioners that are installed under the seat, because there is no need to change the appearance, it is more suitable for personal modification friends. Parking air conditioners are divided into heating and cooling air conditioners and single-refrigeration air conditioners. Should you choose an overhead air conditioner or a bottom air conditioner?

Overhead air conditioners are relatively common in domestic RVs. We can often see the protruding part on the top of the RV, and the protruding part is the outdoor unit. The working principle of the overhead air conditioner is relatively simple.

When we need to replace the air conditioner or refit the air conditioner ourselves, we should pay attention to the size of the opening frame at the top of the RV, which must be consistent with the size of the opening at the bottom of the outdoor unit of the air conditioner.

When refitting the overhead air conditioner, the top waterproof must be done well to prevent water from entering the gap in rainy days. Generally speaking, the overhead air conditioner is designed with a water guide groove, and the condensed water discharged from the outdoor compressor will not penetrate into the cabin. In addition, in terms of appearance and structure, the top-mounted air conditioner is easier to replace and maintain than the bottom-mounted air conditioner, but the indoor unit is on the top of the RV, which will bring corresponding noise.
