Diesel Parking Heater Installation Guide | Mounting Positions & Safety Tips

Diesel Parking Heater Installation Guide

Proper installation is key to safe, long-lasting performance of diesel parking heater systems. As a professional manufacturer, we have compiled this guide to help technicians and fleet teams correctly mount and maintain diesel air heater units across different vehicle types, ensuring reliable heating performance and compliance with safety standards.

Recommended Mounting Positions

Diesel parking heater can be installed in multiple locations depending on vehicle type, always prioritizing easy access, stable fixation and safe exhaust routing.

For trucks: Common positions include co-pilot footwell, rear cab wall, under driver seat backrest, or inside toolbox.

For RVs: Install in front of co-pilot seat, between front seats, on underbody, under storage containers, or in luggage compartment.

For engineering machinery cabs: Suitable locations include driver seat box, rear cab wall, or inside dedicated protective box.

For cars and medium-large buses: Mount in front of co-pilot seat, between front seats, on underbody, under containers, or in luggage area.

Core Installation Requirements

Diesel air heater is designed for flat installation, and can be tilted up to 30 degrees with air inlet facing upward. Ensure air inlet maintains at least 10cm of clearance for unobstructed airflow, and route exhaust port downward, away from driving direction and passenger areas. Keep oil delivery pipes separated from exhaust pipes to avoid overheating risks, and install oil pump vertically or at a 45° angle with outlet facing upward. All wiring uses plug-in connectors for straightforward setup, and unit must be secured with proper gaskets and fixing plates to prevent vibration loosening.

Safety & Maintenance Precautions

Always follow safety rules during installation and use: never modify wiring harness with extra switches, seal installation gaps with approved materials only, and keep at least 3cm of window clearance when running heater in parked vehicle. For long-term reliability, inspect air pipes, oil lines and electrical connections before reuse after periods of inactivity, and clean or replace filters as needed. Regular maintenance checks will extend service life of diesel parking heater and ensure consistent, safe operation.
